Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror
This Halloween weekend… Leo Presents the cult classic silent film Nosferatu – A Symphony of Horror (1922) at the historic theater in the Woman’s Club of Minneapolis!
The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis in Loring Park, is home to the grand Assembly Theater, where many national acts have performed, including Sigur Rós, Jayhawks, and Tiny Tim. It will now host the final Minneapolis Curse of the Vampire Orchestra performance of the 1922 classic horror film Nosferatu – A Symphony of Horror. This unique production was created by local composer Philip Shorey and features an international 50-piece orchestra and choral musicians mixed with modern industrial percussion, electronica, a rock ‘n’ roll light show, and campy Halloween special effects. Nosferatu – A Symphony of Horror is a cinematic masterpiece being remade by renowned director Robert Eggers, known for The Northman, The Lighthouse, and The Witch. Experience the original film the way it was meant to be seen—with a big orchestra— before you witness the remake to be released this Christmas Day. Shorey has been presenting this classic film worldwide, headlining music festivals, and selling out concert halls in Europe and the United States. After five Nosferatu seasons in Minneapolis, he returns to his hometown for one last dance. Don’t miss it!
Attire: Feel free to dress in your most spooky attire fit for a 1920s horror film in a classic 1920s theater.
It was a beautiful concert, and a perfect way to enjoy an evening after a hectic workweek!
